Armature Works Wedding | Anna+Jim

I had the pleasure of meeting Anna and Jim over a year ago when they asked me to photograph their wedding at the incredible Armature Works in Tampa

Immediately we scheduled their engagement session, we went to Philippe Park, and I heard all about their story, how they met and how Jim proposed! The beautiful photos and engagement love story was featured by How He Asked by the knot and has been an inspiration for newly engaged couples!

The big day arrived, and I had the pleasure of meeting their families and loved ones, the most important people in their lives together all in one day.  I am excited to share some of my favorite photos of their big day. Thank you, Anna and Jim, for asking me to be a part of your beautiful day it was a true honor telling your wedding day story!

From our beautiful bride Anna,

Why did you pick the venues that you chose?

I found Armature Works when construction had FIRST begun. It was scary picking an incomplete venue, but the space's unfinished brick and the industrial/rustic feel were just too hard to pass up. Being from a small town, barn weddings are very popular. While they are so beautiful, I just wanted something different. I wanted something that spoke to my vision of the day. Florida doesn't have many "old warehouse" type venues, and then somehow I found armature works by just googling, and I felt like I hit the jackpot.

What was your wedding inspiration? (your wedding decor, beautiful florals, and feel of the day?)

Like most brides, I had a Pinterest board that was overflowing. I knew I wanted very neutral tones that would compliment the original hardwood floors and brick walls of the gathering space at Armature Works. I also wanted a pop of color, which was greenery. I also wanted dim lighting and candles for a romantic feel. I am ALL about the candles. "Industrial/Rustic Elegance" was the theme I had in my mind. Once I saw my vision come together in the space when we walked into the reception, I could not have been any happier. It was so beautiful and so perfect.

What magazines and websites did you use to help you plan?

I used Pinterest and Instagram more than anything. I already followed almost every events company in South Carolina on Instagram (so many stunning event coordinators seem like they come out of SC), where some of my best inspiration came from.

What advice would you give to future brides for their wedding day?

I would give brides the same advice I was given and the advice I actually took, which was to try and stay as calm as possible and really LIVE every moment. Once I saw Jim, I knew every bit of nervousness would fall away, but you really do spend the majority of the day getting ready, and the nervousness to see your groom builds each and every second. It is a VERY emotional day, which means tensions can get high, and I tend to get a little snippy when I am overwhelmed too. I knew if I let my emotions get the best of me, the whole morning would not be fun for my bridesmaids, my maid of honor, my mom, or me. So, I tried to soak in every moment and stay as level-headed as possible. Since I really focused on this, I couldn't have asked for a better morning with my girls. We all had SO much fun chatting, drinking mimosas, and getting our hair and makeup done. It was actually a BLAST. I truly cherished each minute of the day, and I am SO glad that I did.

Lastly, would you like to share your experience with having Carolina as your photographer?

Carolina is a D - R - E - A - M. I truly was stuck on finding a wedding photographer when I began planning. I wanted one I knew Jim and I would mesh with and, of course, one whose pictures we loved. Carolina could not have been more of a God-send. She has a calmness and a sweetness about her that makes you feel very comfortable in front of her camera. You feel like you've been friends for years since you meet her, and she genuinely cares so much about her couples. She made me feel so special throughout the entire planning process, especially on our big day. Not to mention, our photos are stunning. We truly love them all and will cherish these photos for the rest of our lives. The biggest thing we can say to Carolina is thank you - thank you for telling the story of our day in such a beautiful way and thank you for capturing our best memories. We will be forever grateful to you and are so lucky to have had you as our wedding photographer.

Congratulations to Mrs & Mr. Peterson! Some of my favorites from Anna and Jim’s gorgeous wedding! God bless you both on this new journey as husband and wife with a lifetime of shared love and joy!
